An Update from Jackson

August 26, 2011

Sketch Comedy has been going strong! I recently finished an entire freaking month of Independent Music James and now I’m doing a bunch of contemporary parodies and pop culture commentary (which for some reason mostly consists of football). I had a veritable deluge of traffic when my My Little Pony parody comic got featured at Equestria Daily. We’ll see if the bronies stick around for my football nonsense.

In September, I’ll be going on vacation starting the 10th, and I’ll be running a handful of guest strips to cover my sabbatical. I’m pretty excited at the prospect of my first guest week(s?), and I’ve got some talented cartoonists involved.

In the future, I intend to overhaul how the Subscribers’ Edition is handled, offering better archiving, more extra strips and bonus art, and multiple subscription packages at more affordable prices. Once I return from vacation, I’ll be submitting the comic for review to various webcomics review sites and blogs. I’m also beginning to prepare prizes and materials for an upcoming Sketch Comedy contest that should help get the comic some publicity.

In non-Sketchy news, I have been working for the past few months on a new Minecraft building project. Once it is finished, I will post magnificent screenshots.

Infinite Things II: Son of Infinite Things

July 7, 2011

Okay, Theremizzlers. Let’s try this again.

First of all, thank you for your list of mathematical things that are infinite.

Here is a follow-up question: What things are infinite in the universe? What things are infinite that are not merely conceptual?

Thank you,
Jackson

Okay, Theremizzlers, it’s quiz time. What things are infinite?

Please provide an approximate list of all the infinite things. All of them.

Thank you,
Jackson

Jackson’s Art of the Oh Screw It

June 17, 2011

Yeah, this feature of the blog has not really turned out to be daily at all.

But if you do want daily art from me, be sure to check out the Sketchy Activity Daily.

New Sketch Comedy feature: the Sketchy Activity Daily

June 13, 2011

This is a new project: Sketchy Activity Daily. For fifteen minutes every weekday, I will draw something and post it up on the internets–specifically, those internets which are related to Sketch Comedy. The drawing will probably be silly.

Some drawings will post at the Sketch Comedy website, all of them will post at Sketch Comedy’s Facebook page, and Friday’s Sketch Activity Daily will be a Subscribers’ Edition exclusive. And will I post some of them here on Air Theremin too, from time to time? Probably.

See, here is one already. We are off to a good start.

Jackson’s Independent Art of the James

May 2, 2011

Independent Music James

Independent Music James, of Sketch Comedy. Which you should read. And do read.

It is Independent Music James! It is not some other kind of Indie Rock person from a webcomic that I’ve never seen! Notice that it is not drawn in an aliased, pixelated style! We’re not getting sued!

It is a Fargate! From the makers of Thindependence Day!

Joyce (Dumbing of Age) and Karen (Sketch Comedy) share a mutual interest in sweater vests

Joyce wears sweater vests. Karen wears sweater vests.

This fan art was basically inevitable.

Homestuck Fanart - Vriska Serket cosplays Jade Harley, while Jade cosplays Vriska

More Homestuck Fan Art? You come here again and I’ll clobber you, Jackson.

Jade Harley and Vriska Serket attempt to be each other, with mixed success. A sequel of sorts to this other Homestuck fan art. Special thanks to Gryfft for background inspiration and feedback.

Now go read MS Paint Adventures, and also my comic Sketch Comedy.

Oh wait. Don’t go yet. You can click on the fanart image above and download it in Super Desktop Size.

Okay, now you can go.

Questionable Content's Hannelore Ellicott-Chatham

Hannelore Ellicott-Chatham, from that thing Hannelore Ellicott-Chatham is from.

When I ink the pencils here, I’m probably gonna digitally rescale her eyes, because her eyes are lookin’ just a little bit freaky.

New Sketch Comedy tomorrow. Read my comic!
