Because all you write are break up stories

by

My need for you rises and falls

With the tides

Waxes and wanes as the moon

And a thousand other well-worn metaphors

So that at night I dream of you

And then

Of strange men

Rocking between my thighs

Each dawn I mourn

Your blue eyes

Glory in your crooked smile

And curse the curve of your hips

By the morning sun I dig up the garden

Of our lives

And bury all our shared hopes

Alongside the glimmer-glass of my broken heart

Okay, so maybe yeah I know now why you don’t like when I write break-up stories.

  2. aricollins Says:

Actually, I now probably will write more of them.
