…we don’t need infinities or absolutes or epic ideals that span some made-up idea of human universals. We all carry around little pieces of tragedy and love and darkness and sunshine, and ultimately those pieces define us, our form dictated by the way those puzzle pieces fit, our understanding of every experience shaped by the way the previous ones affected us.

A girl smiled at me because my shirt is clever. I should wear clever shirts more often, like I used to.
